Guru Somasundaram joins cast of Thalaivar 165

The actor who shot to fame with his performances in Aaranya Kaandam, Jigarthanda and Joker, has been signed to play an important role in the film

Rajinikanth’s upcoming film with director Karthik Subbaraj, referred to as Thalaivar 165, is getting bigger by the day. Guru Somasundaram, who shot to fame with his performances in films such as Aaranya Kaandam, Jigarthanda and Joker, has been signed to play an important role in the film.

Speaking about the film, Guru says, "I've already completed a schedule for the film and will be a part of the next schedule as well. I'm not at liberty to speak more about the film." 

A source close to the film states that the next schedule is to be shot at Ladakh. Starring Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Simran, Thalaivar 165 is said to be a commercial entertainer. Sanath and Deepak Paramesh, who were a part of Karthik's previous film, Mercury, also play supporting roles in this untitled film, which has music by Anirudh Ravichander and cinematography by Tirru.
