Rashmika Mandanna is an amazing co-star: Vijay Deverakonda
The Pelli Choopulu actor was in Bengaluru to promote NOTA and he spoke about producer Rockline Venkatesh, his Geetha Govindam co-star Rashmika Mandanna, and more
Vijay Deverakonda was in Bengaluru today to promote his upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual NOTA, directed by Anand Shankar. At the event, the actor spoke about his association with producer Rockline Venkatesh, who has bought the Kannada distribution rights of NOTA.
"Rockline Venkatesh asked me to do a film even before Pelli Choopulu. When I was buying my first house, I had a shortage of money and I called him. He immediately sent me that amount," said Vijay, adding, "We will make that film for sure. Hopefully, we'll find a good script soon and work together."
Fresh off the success of his Telugu blockbuster Geetha Govindam, Vijay spoke about his 'amazing' co-star Rashmika Mandanna. "From the inception of the script, we knew that we needed a female character who could dominate and we needed a brilliant performer to pull it off. If Geetha Govindam worked the way it has, it is because our chemistry and performances worked. Everything fit in beautifully," he added.
The actor mentioned that he was overwhelmed for the warm welcome he has been receiving from other industries. "Doing good films is the only way I can give back for this love and affection."
Actor Shivarajkumar met Vijay and heaped lavish praises on the Arjun Reddy star. "Like everybody, I am also a big fan of Vijay Deverakonda," said Shivanna, who compared him to senior actor, Kamal Haasan. "I was 12 years old, when I first met Kamal Haasan. I was an ardent fan of his, and I remember, he had hugged me, and I did not take bath for three days after that," he said, laughing. "That smartness, I see in Vijay. I liked his films, Pelli Choopulu and Arjun Reddy. He is a very subtle and easy actor. It's a delight to watch him on screen," added Shivanna.
