Prithviraj signs Metre gauge 1904
The actor plays the role of engineer Kuruvila, the brain behind the Kollam-Sengottai metre gauge line
Prithviraj, who is awaiting the release of his ambitious film Vimaanam directed by Pradeep M Nair, has signed another project with the same director, titled Metre gauge 1904.
The actor took to Facebook to make the announcement. He posted: "Between history, fiction, love, and the wonder that is human ingenuity, lies the story of Engineer Kuruvila, and how he made the impossible possible for love!"
According to Pradeep, Metre gauge 1904 is a historical fiction and narrates the events related to the work of Travancore's first metre gauge, the Kollam-Sengottai line. "In 1904, an engineer by the name of Kuruvila was in the forefront of the work. This film is about his life and how he fought the odds for the country," he says.
Prithviraj will play the role of engineer Kuruvila in the movie. However, Pradeep says they haven't yet decided when to start filming. "Metre gauge 1904 demands a vast pre-production work. So, we can't say for sure when the film will go on the floors. However, it won't take very much longer," says Pradeep.
Meanwhile, Pradeep's debut movie Vimaanam will release this month. The movie has Prithviraj playing a young man, who dreams of flying a plane. Durga Krishnan plays the lady lead.
