Apart from starring in and producing films, Udhayanidhi Stalin also distributes films under his Red Giant Movies banner. While his company has distributed films such as Ko, Boss Engira Bhaskaran and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, all of which had prominent stars, the banner also championed smaller films such as Mynaa and Neram, which later went on to become super-hit films.

The producer-actor has now acquired the rights for Oru Kuppai Kathai, directed by debutant Kaali Rangasamy. The unusually titled film has choreographer Dinesh debuting as the hero and Manisha Yadav playing the female lead. Dinesh, who won the National Award for his choreography in Aadukalam, apparently got many acting offers but chose this script thanks to its interesting take on problems faced by downtrodden people in our society. The film will have Manisha in a non-glamorous role.

Incidentally, the actress's Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer was also distributed by Udhay.
