Byra trots into hearts of Ayogya team
The goat plays an important role in debutant director Mahesh's film which is scheduled for release on May 15
Director Mahesh Kumar, who will mark his directorial debut with Ayogya, is completing filming for the project at a brisk pace. Nearly forty per cent of the film, starring Sathish Ninasam and Rachita Ram, is done. It has been shot mostly in Mandya and has a goat playing an important character.
Named Byra, the young goat has won over everyone’s hearts on the set and has even become the heroine’s pet. Mahesh says, “Byra was picked up from one of the houses in Mandya and now knows how to react to ‘action’ and ‘cut’. The hero in the film is attached to Byra, who plays an important part in his romance with the heroine. I wanted to capture Mandya’s spirit and so thought a goat would be apt.”
The film also has features an old Java bike and a ladies bike, which are more than just props; they play an important part in the narrative. The director says that they are like characters in the story.
Mahesh will start his next schedule from January 15, and will be completing the shoot in a month’s time. The director also plans to release the film on May 15.
