Vinay Rajkumar: Actors don’t have work from home
The actor talks about how his experiences during the lockdown
The makers of Vinay Rajkumar's Gramayana and 10 have planned to release a teaser and a poster, respectively to celebrate the actors birthday today. While the former is directed by Devanuru Chandru, 10 marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Karm Chawla. The actor, who always tries to keep his birthday celebrations simple, says the lockdown doesn’t make any difference to him. Vinay adds that the crisis is also teaching him a lot of life skills.
He also points out that actors like him don’t have the advantage of the ‘work from home’ facility. “As actors, our profession demands us to be on the field only. It’s mostly after the movie is shot that a lot of indoor work happens. Otherwise, it is mostly outside. That’s one of the reasons this lockdown has left us with hardly any work to do.” Vinay adds that maintaining the looks and the physique required for the ongoing film is a huge responsibility. “We have to maintain the same look for at least 3-4 months, to get the continuity right. So I am maintaining the Gramayana look till the shooting resumes,” he explains.
Gramayana is a rural film and the team has completed 50 per cent of the shooting in and around Devanuru. Vinay will be seen sporting two looks in the film. It has music by Poornachandra Tejaswi and cinematography by Abhishek Kasargod.
The actor has also completed shooting for 10. The sports drama, made under the banner, Pushkar Films, is directed by Karm Chawla. Apart from these two films, Vinay has also given the green-lit director Raghu Vardhan’s Yuvakesari. Touted to be a commercial entertainer, the project is currently in the pre-production stage and will go on floors once Vinay completes Gramayana. “The present look of mine will not be suitable to shoot two films simultaneously. I will have to wait for Gramayana to finish to start any other project,” he says.
