Vedhika says Uppi is ‘humanity personified’
The actress is paired opposite ‘Real star’ in Home Minister directed by Sujay K Srihari
Vedhika says that she now only signs on projects that she totally believes in. There have been several offers from Kannada, especially after her role in Shivalinaga, but the actress sticks to this ground rule. She also feels lucky to have been noticed by filmmakers who want her for movies that require performance skills.
The actress is now working in a Prakash Raj-starrer, Gowdru Hotel directed by Pon Kumaran, and her next big film in Kannada is Home Minister, in which she has been paired opposite Upendra for the first time. The film, directed by Sujay K Srihari, has been produced by Poorna Naidu.
The actress who joined the sets on Tuesday told CE that it is again an interesting film for her, though she says that it is too early to reveal the story. “I will have a better idea once I start getting into the role,” says Vedhika.
Having said that, Vedhika says there were many reasons that drew her to this project. “Firstly it was Upendra, I am a huge fan and always wanted to work with him, and the chance came with Home Minister. And he is humanity personified, which I witnessed the very first day on the sets. He brings in a lot of positivity on the sets. Secondly, there is this role that requires my acting talent, which is what caught my attention. It is not easy for heroines to get such an opportunity, and I feel lucky and am thankful to the filmmakers for considering me,” she says.
Vedhika is equally excited to work with actors such as Prakash Raj and Anant Nag in Gowdru Hotel, but her other reason to rejoice is the music directors she works with in every project. “While music director Yuvan Shankar Raja will be making his Kannada debut with Gowdru Hotel, Home Minister will have music director Ghibran Mohamaad, again his debut. Music and dance are a great combination, and I am happy to be associated with such talent,” she says.
