Trailer of Netflix's American Nightmare is here

Netflix released the trailer of their upcoming docuseries, American Nightmare, on Wednesday. The docuseries will tell the story of the couple Denise Huskins and  Aaron Quinn, who, in 2015, alleged that their home was invaded and that the former was kidnapped by the invaders. 

The official logline of American Nightmare reads, "After a home invasion and kidnapping, a young couple's recounting of the events is too far-fetched for the police to believe." The upcoming docuseries comes from  The Tinder Swindler filmmakers Felicity Morris and Bernadette Higgins. 

As per the couple's side of the story, Huskins was kidnapped by the invaders, who then demanded Quinn, ransom money in exchange for his girlfriend. The story was unveiled when Aaron recounted the horrors to the Police in Vallejo, California. However, the police found his account to be too far-fetched and initially thought he was behind the murder of his then-missing girlfriend. 

However, when Huskins made a return back home, the case was compared to the 2012 Gillian Flynn novel Gone Girl, in which the protagonist orchestrates her own kidnapping. A three-part docuseries, American Nightmare will have a mix of footage from Police interrogations, as well as, new interviews, exploring the truth behind the case, which received attention from National media houses. 

American Nightmare will premiere on Netflix on January 17.
