Ariyippu to premiere on Netflix on this date;Trailer out

We had earlier reported about the Kunchacko Boban-Mahesh Narayanan film Ariyippu eyeing a direct Netflix release. On Wednesday, the makers released the trailer and announced that the film will premiere on December 16.

Ariyippu follows the story of an immigrant couple from Kerala working in a medical gloves factory in North India. Kunchacko Boban and Divyaprabha play the lead roles. Loveleen Mishra, Kannan Arunachalam, Danish Hussain, and Faisal Malik also star in it.

Ariyippu is scripted by Mahesh Narayanan, who has also co-produced it with Kunchacko Boban and Shebin Backer. The film also sees Mahesh reuniting with cinematographer Sanu John Varghese, who had shot the director's Take Off and Malik.

Ariyippu had its world premiere earlier this year at the International Competition Section of the 75th Locarno Film Festival. It was later picked at the BFI London Film Festival and the 27th Busan International Film festival. The film had its Indian premiere at the recently concluded International Film Festival of India. It is also part of the Competition Section of the upcoming IFFK, scheduled to be held from December 9-16.
