Official: 2018 enters the 100 crore club

The rare feat was achieved in just ten days of its release

Jude Anthany Joseph's latest film, 2018: Everyone Is A Hero, has surpassed all expectations and entered the elite 100 crore club of Malayalam cinema. The makers officially announced that the rare feat was achieved in just ten days of its release. Venu Kunnappilly, CK Padma Kumar, and Anto Joseph have jointly backed the film.

As per trade experts, 2018 is only the third Malayalam film after Pulimurugan and Lucifer to do a theatrical business of over Rs 100 crores. Going by the extraordinary response from the audience, the film is expected to continue its blockbuster run in the coming days as well. 

2018 is based on the Kerala floods that rocked the state and took several lives. Jude and his co-writer Akhil P Dharmajan took inspiration from several real incidents to script the film as a hyperlink thriller. Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Lal, Narain, Sudheesh, Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Kalaiyarasan, and Vineeth Sreenivasan essay major roles in the film.
