Making this movie based on true events to recreate the real incident without compromising, is truly appreciable."

Addressing the film's subject matter and politics, he added, "Lands belonging to Dalits & Tribals shall be given back to them. For which we all have to fight."

The Kaala-filmmaker also praised the film's actors--Kunchacko Boban, Vinayakan, Joju George, Dileesh Pothan, TG Ravi, Prakash Raaj, Gopalan, Indhrans, Kani Kusruthi, and Unnimaya Prasad--for their "terrific performances".

"Congratulations to the team for making this film so connecting with the audience," Ranjith concluded.

Pada chronicles real life incident that transpired in '90s when four men hailing from the Adivasi community and identifying themselves as Ayyankali Pada took an IAS officer hostage as a protest against the then newly-implemented Kerala Scheduled Tribes (Regulation on Transfer of Lands and Restoration of Alienated Lands) Amendment Act, 1996.

The film was met with positive reactions.
