We had reported earlier that Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen are headlining the directorial debut of Malayalam filmmaker Indhu VS. The makers shared the first look of the same today.

The film is said to have a subject of contemporary relevance and goes beyond the conventional hero-heroine concept. Indrajith Sukumaran, Bhagath Manuel, Deepak Parambol, Indrans and many others are part of the cast.

Indhu, who has previously worked with director Salim Ahamed (Adaminte Makan Abu), directed 19 (1)(a) from her screenplay. The film was shot entirely in Kerala during the pandemic while following the mandatory Covid-19 protocols.

Govind Vasantha (96) has composed the music and cinematography is handled by Manesh Madhavan (Joseph).

19 (1)(a) marks Vijay Sethupathi's first full-fledged role in a Malayalam film. He had earlier made a guest appearance in the Jayaram-starrer Marconi Mathaai.
