Mohanlal's Marakkar confirmed for big-screen release on December 2

After a long series of speculations and much hullabaloo, the makers of Marakkar have confirmed that the film will release in theatres on December 2

The news was confirmed by Mohanlal and producer Antony Perumbavoor.

Sharing the news, Mohanlal wrote, "It’s time to break the seal of that stunning surprise and we can’t contain the joy! You are about to experience one of the most marvellous visual treats in all its glory, from the place where its dashing frames deserve to be indulged in!"

Directed by Priyadarshan, Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham is an epic period war film based on the life of Kunjali Marakkar IV, naval commander of the Samoothiri, known for defending the Malabar Coast against the Portuguese invasion. 

Apart from Mohanlal, the film also stars Manju Warrier, Arjun Sarja, Keerthy Suresh, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Pranav Mohanlal, Suniel Shetty, Mukesh, Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Prabhu, and Fazil among others.

The film has already won three awards at 67th National Film Awards. It won awards under the categories Best Feature Film (Malayalam), Best Costume Design, and Best Special Effects.
