Marakkar makers claim Mohanlal-starrer earns Rs 100 crore through pre-bookings alone
Marakkar: Arabinkadalinte Simham's makers claim that the film has collected Rs 100 crore at the box office through pre-release ticket sales of Mohanlal-starrer.
Marakkar: Arabinkadalinte Simham has collected Rs 100 crores even before the movie has made it to the silver screen. Mohanlal shared a tweet with a poster that read "The first Indian movie to enter the 100 crore club worldwide, through reservations alone."
It was claimed that the collection was purely from pre-release reservations made by audiences alone. Marakkar: Arabinkadalinte Simham is a period war film in which Mohanlal plays the titular role. His son Pranav Mohanlal plays the young version of Marakkar in the film.
Marakkar: Arabinkadalinte Simham is helmed by Priyadarshan and produced by Antony Perumbavoor for Aashirvad Cinemas. The film which has registered a grand opening almost did not make it to the theatres.

The film starring an impressive cast led by Mohanlal was initially set for a theatre release. Repeated delays caused by the pandemic, however, resulted in the producers considering an OTT release.
Producer Antony Perumbavoor had also explained his motive behind considering a straight to OTT released earlier in November. He said that he was unhappy with the conduct of the theatre owners. Antony explained that the theatre owners had helped them in the past, but this time, they were not ready to even discuss the terms with him.
It was because of Kerala’s Minister for Film Development Corporation and Chalachitra Academy that Marakkar: Arabinkadalinte Simham's release in theatres was confirmed. Saji Cherian promised full support and now, the makers have claimed that the film is releasing on 613 screens out of 626 in Kerala.
Marakkar: Arabinkadalinte Simham stars Keerthy Suresh, Tovino Thomas, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Manju Warrier, Suniel Shetty, among others.
