Shady El-Hamus' next is under production in Netherlands; Netflix announces cast

The production of director Shady El-Hamus' upcoming Dutch film is underway in the Netherlands. Backed by Netflix, the untitled film stars  El-Hamus, Sabri Saad El-Hamus, Minne Koole, Isabelle Kafando, Manoushka Zeegelaar Breeveld, Leny Breederveld, Raymond Thiry, Loes Schnepper, Jonas Smulders, Kendrick Etmon, Tobias Kersloot and Yari van der Linden. 

According to the streamer, the film revolves around Amir (Shahine El-Hamus) who tries to save his father Omar's (Sabri El-Hamus) family restaurant in Amsterdam Oost. When he decides to resign after a family dispute, he starts working for a young and successful crypto entrepreneur, Roy (Minne Koole), who drags him into his world with its consequences to follow.

In a statement, the director said, "It’s great to maintain the trust and confidence from Netflix and create another film together. A long cherished wish of mine is coming true with my third feature film; where I tell a father/son story in which my father and little brother play the leading roles."

Written by Shady with Jeroen Scholten van Aschat, the film will premiere on Netflix in 2023.
