Laal Singh Chaddha: Makers unveil BTS of Chaitanya Akkineni's journey as Balaraju Bodi

The makers of Laal Singh Chaddha released the behind-the-scenes video featuring Chaitanya Akkineni. The actor plays the character named Balaraju Bodi (aka) Bala, reprising the role of Bubba in Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump (1994).

The video gives a glimpse of Chaitanya’s journey as Bala in the official Hindi adaptation of Forrest Gump.

In the video, Chaitanya says how they decided to name his character Baralaju Bodi and its connection to his grandfather Nageshwar Akkineni’s 1948 film Balaraju. He further explained how they chose prosthetics like lower jaw prosthetics, different hairstyles, moustaches and looks by taking references from his grandfather’s look. While all the technicians praised Chaitanya for speaking Hindi with ease, his patience and calm demeanour, Aamir Khan noted that he is a team player and as an actor “he is so on the ball and focused.”

Chaitanya said that, unlike other film wrap-ups, he felt sad to leave the sets of Laal Singh Chaddha as he was completely invested in the project. Laal Singh Chaddha, produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Kiran Rao, and Viacom18 Studios, also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh. The film is set to hit the big screens on August 11.
