Monica O My Darling teaser out: Rajkummar Rao in a noir mystery

Netflix has dropped the teaser of Vasan Bala's Monica O My Darling. A noir mystery, the film stars Rajkummar Rao, Huma Qureshi, Radhika Apte and Sikandar Kher. 

The teaser unfolds as a series of interest-raising snippets. Rajkummar, relating his life's story, says he's from Angola, a small town. "Sounds exotic," replies Nikki (Akansha Ranjan). We then see Huma offering adulterated tea to Rajkummar, who politely declines. Other images include: a robitic-arm sealing champagne bottles; Radhika Apte prattling in an accent ("One should never narrate a backstory so perfectly," she says), Sikandar Kher cursing; Rajkummar riding a bike and leaping off a building; and Huma smashing a cat statuette with a hammer. 

Written by Yogesh Chandekar, Monica O My Darling is a 'neo-noir that is an ode to movies about the perfect plan that led to the perfect mayhem of the lives of the people who laid it out', featuring 'lust, blackmail, betrayal, blood, whodunnit, and some robots crushing human skulls.' 

The film will release on Netflix soon.
