Hidimbha trailer out

We had earlier reported that Hidimbha will be distributed by Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments. The trailer of Hidimbha has been unveiled recently. The release date of the film is not mentioned along with the trailer. Aneel Kanneganti, the director of Hidimbha has also conceived the film. It stars Ashwin Babu and Swetha Nanditha in lead roles.

The trailer, which is two minutes long, shows us two stories — one that is set in 1908 in the islands of Andaman (as indicated by the geographical coordinates 11.675°N 92.848°E along with a story happening in present day in Hyderabad. In the former story, we see the British policeman bring a boatload of Indian criminals to the coast of the Bay of Bengal (which is a possible reference to the Kala Paani prison), along with indigenous tribes. The present day story, meanwhile, shows the Hyderabad Police in pursuit of a serial killer who is known to murder women wearing red coloured clothes. There is also a possible cannibalism angle to the story, along with a man in a mask. These two stories are shown to have a link.

Hidimbha is produced by Sreedhar Gangapatnam, with music composed by Vikas Badisa. The key technicians of the films include B Rajasekhar, MR Varma and Sharmila Yalisetty as the cinematographer, editor and art director respectively.
