Rakhi Sawant detained by Mumbai Police for questioning

Actor-dancer Rakhi Sawant was detained by Mumbai’s Amboli area police on Thursday in connection with a complaint filed against her by model Sherlyn Chopra. According to IANS, Sherlyn complained that Rakhi Sawant made inappropriate videos and photos of her go viral

The actor has not been arrested and has only been taken to the police station for questioning.

Last year, a First Information Report (FIR) was also filed against Rakhi and advocate Falguni Brahmbhatt by Sherlyn. The model had accused Rakhi and her associate of using objectionable video and language during a public conference. It has been registered under IPC sections 354A, 500, 504, 509 & IT ACT 67A.

Rakhi is never shy of controversies. Recently, photos of her secret wedding with partner Adil Khan had gone viral. Apparently, she had married Adil last year. She announced her wedding on social media and wrote, “Finally, I’m happy so excited and got married my love is 4 Ever unconditional love for you Adil.” Adil who initially dismissed their wedding claims, later accepted it.

She was also found wrapped up in rumours of her pregnancy, followed by a miscarriage. Later, she and Adil dismissed claiming that she had a miscarriage in a joint post which read, “Fake news I request everyone please do not publish such fake topics.”

Rakhi made her debut as Ruhi Sawant in the 1997 film Agnichakra. She became popular with the item number ‘Mohabbat Hain Mirchi’ for the Zayed Khan and Esha Deol starrer Chura Liya Hain Tumne (2003). The actor has also done small roles in films like Masti and Main Hoon Na.
