#AskSRK: Fan asks SRK why he puts ‘Khan’ as surname, the actor replies ‘don’t bother with small things’

Shah Rukh Khan did an ‘Ask SRK’ session on Twitter on Wednesday, on the occasion of completing 13 years on the micro-blogging website.

“Realised it’s 13yrs on twitter. It’s been fun with all of u & fan clubs loving me so much. Mixed with good wishes, suggestions, memes, re-edits, expectations, unsolicited advice & some unsavoury behaviour…to all of u my best wishes to make a good life in the real world. #Pathan,” the actor wrote.

Clarifying that he will give only ‘fun answers’, the actor added, “#AskSrk let’s do. Only fun answers nothing serious to begin the year with…”

With his trademark wit and panache, Shah Rukh answered many questions posed by fans. When a twitter user asked about Salman Khan’s entry in Pathaan, SRK cheekily replied, “#Pathaan is an interactive movie whenever you want bhai to come in the film use the QR code on the ticket and he will come in the film.”

A fan asked Shah Rukh why he uses “Khan” as his surname since he “is a Kashmiri”, to which the actor replied, “The whole world is my family….family ke naam se naam nahi hota….kaam se naam hota hai. Choti baaton mein mat padho please.”

Another curious user asked SRK why Alia Bhatt calls him SR, to which he replied, “Could mean sweet & romantic or maybe senior & respected or maybe just shah rukh.” This also prompted a response from Alia who said, “More like sweet and respected :) But from 25th Jan I’m going to switch to calling you Pathaan.See I’m so creative na .” Shah Rukh also replied to Alia and wrote, “Done lil one. And I am now going to call u lil Amma Bhatt Kapoor!”

Some fans also asked Shah Rukh his viewpoints on other actors. SRK described Rajinikanth as “Bossman”, Vijay Sethupathi as “Awesome and awesome!!”, his Pathaan co-star Deepika Padukone as “so nice it’s unbelievable…” and Vijay as “too sweet and quiet.” Another Twitter user asked SRK the purpose of watching Pathaan to which he replied, “Oh God these people are really deep….what is the purpose of life? What is the purpose of anything..? Sorry I am not such a deep thinker.”

At the opening ceremony of Kolkata International Film Festival, Shah Rukh had spoken about the hate one receives on social media and said, “I read somewhere negativity increases social media consumption and thereby increases its commercial value as well. Such pursuits enclose the collective narrative, making it divisive and destructive.”

Pathaan, helmed by Siddharth Anand, releases in theatres on January 25. The film also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. The trailer of the film drops on January 10. After Pathaan, SRK will also be seen in Jawan and Dunki.
