Veteran actor Shakti Kapoor has reacted to the detainment of his son Siddhanth Kapoor in a drugs case.

Siddhanth, who is the brother of actor Shraddha Kapoor, was detained by Bengaluru Police for allegedly consuming drugs at a party in a hotel at MG Road. Samples of people suspected of consuming drugs were sent for medical tests. Siddhant is among six people whose samples came positive.

Reacting to the issue, Shakti told HT City, “I am in Mumbai and I don’t know what is happening. I got to know from news channels only. All I know as of now is that there is no arrest and Siddhanth has only been detained."

The actor added that the “news cannot be true”.

"Yes, he is a DJ (disco jockey) and he plays at parties, and that’s what he was in Bengaluru for. I don’t know where are all these reports coming from. I will talk to my son very soon and know the details. But I know this can’t be true", the actor added.

Siddhanth made his acting debut in the crime film Shootout at Wadala (2013). He has since appeared in Ugly, Haseena Parkar (with his sister Shraddha), Paltan and other films.

In 2020, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had questioned several actors in a drugs-related probe following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Shraddha Kapoor was among the actors questioned by the NCB.
