Negotiations are in place between Cameron Diaz's representatives and the producers of Jonah Hill's fourth directorial, titled Outcome. Last April, Deadline reported that Apple Original Films bought the film, with Keanu Reeves expected to headline it. Even now, Reeves' representatives are in talks with the makers of the film over a role for the actor in it.
Outcome is billed as a dark comedy and is Hill's first directorial in six years, after 2018's Mid90s. If the deal goes through between Reeves and the producers, he would star in the film as Reef, a Hollywood actor who faces extortion after a mysterious video surfaces and deals with his dark past. Matt Dines, Hill, and Ali Goodwin are producing Outcome under their banner Strong Baby. Hill is also starring in the film, alongside Reeves and Diaz.
The film also marks a comeback for Diaz after a break of ten years from acting in feature-length films. Although she played herself in the 2022 documentary Nicki Minaj: Queen of Rap, her last film character was in 2014's Annie. She is also featuring opposite actor Jamie Foxx in the upcoming Netflix film Back in Action.
