Filmmaker-writer duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert has bagged the Best Original Screenplay for Everything Everywhere All At Once at the 95th Academy Awards. 

They competed with Martin McDonagh for  The Banshees of Inisherin, Steven Spielberg and and Tony Kushner for The Fabelmans, Todd Field for Tár and  Ruben Östlund for Triangle of Sadness under the category. 

Accepting the award, Daniel Scheinert spoke first and took the opportunity to thank his school teachers for 'educating and inspiring' him. Daniel Kwan, who registered that his imposter syndrome was at an all time high, said,"I never thought myself as a storyteller or screenwriter. I never thought I was good enough. I had self-esteem problems. My protected the storyteller in me, my wife for guarding me from my negative thoughts, especially while writing." Finally, he thanked Daniel Scheinert for believing in him. "He is my confidence. He is the one who told me that I am a filmmaker and a storyteller before even I could say that to myself. I would not be here without him." 

Everything Everywhere All at Once is a 2022 American absurdist comedy-drama film written, directed, and co-produced by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. The film stars Michelle Yeoh in the lead and Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan, Jenny Slate and Harry Shum Jr in important roles. The film went on to bag the most number of Oscar nominations.
