Dead Ringers teaser trailer out

The trailer of Dead Ringers, an upcoming series remake of David Cronenberg's film of the same name, was released by Prime Video. The series follows identical twins who work as gynaecologists, with Rachel Weisz in the lead role. 

The teaser trailer opens with a shot showing two versions of Rachel Weisz sitting in a hospital corridor in red clothes. While one of them has a cut on their head, the other seems to be pregnant. They're both called Dr Mantle, establishing that they're twin sisters who are also gynaecologists. In another shot, they're seen looking at a newborn, indicating that the child may be the centre of the series. 

Alice Birch is the creator, writer and executive producer of Dead Ringers. All six episodes of the series will premiere on April 21. Apart from starring in the series, Rachel will also serve as an executive producer for the series.

Rachel plays the role of Elliot and Beverly Mantle in Dead Ringers. The characters are identical twin sisters who share everything: drugs, lovers, and the desire to push the boundaries of medical ethics. The series will also feature Britne Oldford, Poppy Liu, Michael Chernus, Jennifer Ehle, and Emily Meade.

While Sean Durkin directed the first two episodes of the series, Karyn Kusama, Karena Evans and Lauren Wolkstein are also a part of the direction team. Dead Ringers is co-produced by Amazon Studios and Annapurna Television.
