The trailer of Boston Strangler, the upcoming crime drama starring Keira Knightley and Carrie Coon, was released by Hulu. The film will stream on the platform on March 17.

Keira and Carrie play journalists who aid in tracking down the titular murderer during the 1960s. The film is based on real life serial killer who ravaged Boston during 1962 and 1964 and targeted women who were stalked and killed. It is speculated that the death toll was more than 11. Boston Strangler will revolve around Keira's Massachusetts-based reporter who became the first to draw a connections between the killings. She later teamed up witj Joean Cole (played by Carrie), who was her colleague and close confidante.

The script of Boston Strangler is written by Matt Ruskin, who will also direct the film. Collider quoted him saying, "Having grown up in Boston, I had always heard of the Strangler in a very abstract sense, but I didn’t really know anything about the details of the case and a few years ago, I started reading about it and discovered a really fascinating, layered serial killer story. I always loved journalism stories and in researching the case, I discovered these two journalists, starting with Loretta McLaughlin, the first journalist to connect the murders, and in her reporting, she actually gave the Boston Strangler his name. It was a really monumental story for her in her career in the early 1960s. She was a very ambitious reporter in a male-dominated field and this was a real turning point for her.”

Others part of the cast include David Dastmalchian, Alessandro Nivola, Chris Cooper, Rory Cochrane, Morgan Spector, among others.
