76th BAFTA: All Quiet on the Western Front, The Banshees of Inisherin win big; here's the full list of winners

The annual BAFTA ceremony took place at the Royal Festival, London, and had the who's and who's of the industry attend the gala. Despite all the glitz and glory, the event was essentially about awards and celebrating the best in the business, and a frontrunner, All Quiet on the Western Front, stayed true to its top billing at this year's nominations.

Having received 14 nominations, and tying up with Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for becoming the most-nominated non-English film at the BAFTAs, All Quiet on the Western Front, made a major haul, including Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay, and best director. The film received seven nods that, in itself, is a BAFTA record for a film not in the English language.

Apart from All Quiet on the Western Front, another big winner of the night was Martin McDonagh’s The Banshees of Inisherin, which won Kerry Condon and Barry Keoghan BAFTAs for Best Supporting Actors. The leading actor nods went to Austin Butler for Elvis, and Cate Blanchett for Tar.

The largely methodical event, which was hosted by Richard E Grant, had mostly followed protocols to a 't.' But nature had other plans.

When Troy Kotsur revealed the best supporting actress, his sign language translator mistakenly said that the winner was She Said‘s Carey Mulligan, when in fact — as was corrected just a few moments later — it was Condon.
