After seven weeks of persisting success at the US box office, Avatar 2 has been knocked down by M. Night Shyamalan's thriller Knock At The Cabin.

According to the numbers from Variety, Knock At The Cabin dethroned James Cameron's 3-D sci-fi epic with $14.2 million in ticket sales in the U.S. It may be noted that even though Knock At The Cabin has toppled Avatar 2, the film ranks as the lowest opening week for Shyamalan's career. That distinction previously belonged to 2021’s Old, which kicked off to $16.8 million as the omicron variant of COVID was surging, and it eventually climbed to $48 million domestically and $90 million globally.

Besides the US box office, Knock At The Cabin added $7 million at the international box office, bringing its global tally to $21.2 million.

Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, and Ben Aldridge are the major stars in the film. The film revolves around a family suddenly held hostage by strangers trying to prevent the apocalypse.
