Netflix has announced a six-documentary series adding to its natural history slate. The documentaries are slated for release over the next few years, starting this November. The slate is designed to explore and understand the wonders and complexities of the world around us. The stories revolve around the history of the Earth’s earliest origins, the environments we live in, to the planet we are creating for the future.
The list of series' are as follows:
Our Universe
Narrated by Morgan Freeman, the six-part series is about the epic tale 13.8 billion years in the making and will explain the birth of the Sun to the birth of a sea turtle and more. The series will premiere on November 22, 2022.
Our Planet II
Narrated by David Attenborough, the documentary is set to premiere in 2023. It unravels the mysteries of how and why animals migrate to reveal some of the most dramatic and compelling stories in the natural world.
Life on Our Planet
The show tells the story of lives on our planet. With the use of the latest technology and science, the series brings long-extinct creatures back to life, Life On Our Planet reveals the incredible story of life on our planet. It is narrated by Morgan Freeman.
Our Oceans
Set to release in 2024, the series explores the magical world of wonders that lies beneath the waves -- from the tropical warm waters of the Indian Ocean, the fiery depths of the Atlantic, from the unpredictable waters of the Pacific that are surrounded by a ring of fire, to the freezing isolation of the Southern and Arctic Oceans.
Our Living World
Our Living World reflects on the living planet, revealing the astonishing web of connections that unites us all and sustains our universe’s most magical phenomenon — life. It will also release in 2024.
Our Water World
The last release of the slate is scheduled for 2025. Our Water World explores the incredible freshwater systems that help our planet thrive and, without which, life could not exist. From Earth’s icy realms to its rushing rivers and epic waterfalls, to magical cloud forests, this is the mysterious, surprising and captivating story of our planet's extraordinary freshwater worlds.
