That '70s Show's Tommy Chang to reprise his role in That '90s Show

That '70s Show-star Tommy Chang will reprise his role from his show in the upcoming follow-up series, That '90s Show. 

That ’70s Show aired on Fox for eight seasons from 1998 to 2006. The show was headlined by Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Danny Masterson, Laura Wilmer Valderrama and Lisa Robin Kelly. It followed the lives of a group of six teenage friends living in a fictional town called Point Place, Wisconsin, from May 17, 1976, to December 31, 1979.

Chong will reprise his role as the marijuana-smoking Foto Hut owner who stood out for his comedic timing. It was previously announced that actors Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp, who played Eric's (Grace) parents in the original, will return to reprise their roles in the upcoming series. Grace, Prepon, Kutcher, Kunis and Valderrama will appear in guest roles. New cast members include Ashley Aufderheide, Callie Haverda, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi, and Sam Morelos.

Set in 1995 at Point Place, Wisconsin, the new series will follow Eric (Grace) and Donna’s (Prepon) teenage daughter, Leia Forman (Haverda) who visits her grandparents, Red (Smith) and Kitty (Rupp) for the summer. Leia bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red.

Smith and Jo Rupp will also executive produce alongside its creators, That ’70s Show alum Gregg Mettler, Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner, and their daughter Lindsay Turner. Mettler will also serve as showrunner. Marcy Carsey and Tom Werner also executive produce under the Carsey-Werner Company, which produced That ’70s Show.
