Actors Gabriel Byrne and Mira Sorvino have joined the cast of Lamborghini, the feature biopic of Italian sports car founder Ferruccio Lamborghini.

The film stars Frank Grillo playing the titular role. Byrne will play Enzo Ferrari, Lamborghini’s rival, while Sorvino plays Annita, Lamborghini’s second wife. Based on Ferruccio Lamborghini: La Storia Ufficiale (The Official Story), the biography written by his son Tonino Lamborghini, the story will chart the long life of the celebrated entrepreneur from the manufacturing of tractors at the start of his career to creating military vehicles during World War II, and then on to designing and building the iconic Lamborghini luxury sports cars that ultimately defined his legacy.

The feature is adapted to screen and directed by Bobby Moresco. The cast also includes Giorgio Cantarini and Fortunato Cerlino. The filming is currently underway in Emilia Romagna and Rome.

Lamborghini is produced by Andrea Iervolino, Monika Bacardi and Danielle Maloni for Iervolino and Lady Bacardi Entertainment. Bret Saxon and Jeffrey Bowler will serve as executive producers.
