Nedunalvaadai director defends inviting Vairamuthu to the film's success meet

Last week's release Nedunalvaadai, directed by debutant Selvakannan, has been lauded by both the critics and audience, and the number of screens for the film has been increased as a result of the positive word of mouth.

The success meet of the film was held earlier today in Chennai, and in an unexpected turn of events, Vairamuthu, one of the first people in the industry to have MeToo allegations levied against him, was invited as the chief guest of the function. The lyricist, who had penned all four songs in the film, touched upon topics like the state of Tamil songs, and need for film titles to be in Tamil. Interestingly, he also went on to speak about the Pollachi issue.

When questioned about inviting Vairamuthu, director Selvakannan said, "Anyone can accuse anyone without any evidence, but that doesn't make the ones facing the accusation the perpetrators. I believe Vairamuthu sir hasn't done anything harmful, and I don't find anything wrong in inviting him."
