Meet the mighty Pandavas of Kurukshetra

Kurukshetra, the mythological drama produced by Munirathna and directed by Naganna, is based on the poem Gadhayudha by Ranna. The film, which is said to be one of the most expensive films in Kannada cinema history,  and it marks the 50th film of Darshan. We got an exclusive sneak peek of the film's main male characters — Dharmaraya,  Bhima, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadeva.

Shashikumar

A senior actor in the Kannada film industry, as well as a politician, Shashikumar plays Dharmaraya, the eldest son of King Pandu and Queen Kunti, the principal protagonist of the Kurukshetra war.

Danish Akhtar Saifi

The wrestler-turned-actor, known for his role of Hanuman in Siye Ke Ram, makes his silver screen entry as Bhima in Kurukshetra. According to Mahabharatha, the second of the Pandava brothers was known for his strength and towering physique.

Sonu Sood

The Bollywood actor, who has also been part of a few South Indian films as the antagonist, has previously mentioned that playing a mythological character has always been at the top of his wishlist. This wish now gets fulfilled with Kurukshetra. He is playing Arjuna, whose bond with Lord Krishna is one of the most iconic episodes in Hindu mythology.

Yashas Surya and Chandan 

Yashas Surya, an established actor in Sandalwood, and Chandan play Nakula and Sahadeva, respectively.
 

The original Kannada version of Kurukshetra as well as dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi are set for a simultaneous grand release on August 12. The film is distributed by Rockline Venkatesh’s banner in all five languages.
