When Neeya was released in 1979, one of the major highlights of this cult movie was the song Ore Jeevan sung by Vani Jairam and SP Balasubrahmanyam, and composed by Shankar-Ganesh. Right from the time Neeya 2 was announced, fans have been waiting to hear the recreated version of this iconic number, which originally featured actors Sripriya, Chandra Mohan, and Kamal Haasan. 

The new version of the song from Neeya 2, which stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Jai, was released today.

With music by Sagaa-fame Shabir, the recreated version, sung by Naresh Iyer and Rita Thyagarajan, carries the original lyrics written by Kavignar Kannadasan. 

Catherine Tresa and Raai Laxmi are also part of the cast of the upcoming film, which features a 22-feet snake in an important role. 

The first schedule of Neeya 2 was shot in Pondicherry, and the subsequent ones were completed in Talakonam, Chennai, Madurai, and Chalakudi. Made on a budget of Rs 10 crore, the film has story, screenplay, and dialogues, all penned by the director L Suresh himself.
