The first-look teaser of CV Kumar's second directorial after Maayavan, Gangs of Madras, was released by Dhanush earlier today. The film, which will feature newcomers in the lead roles, is said to based on the true story of a female gangster.

According to a reliable source, the crew spent eight months on the pre-production and research work. The makers of the film, which was mainly shot in live locations of North Madras, are eyeing a Summer release.

Sai Priyanka Ruth, who was seen in supporting roles in films like Metro and Enakku Vaaitha Adimaigal, will be playing the lead. Apart from the fresh faces, actors like Daniel Balaji, Kalaiarasan and Bagavathi Perumal are said to play import roles in the gangster drama. Kadavul-director Velu Prabhakaran plays the role of an antagonist for the first time in his career in this gilm

The music of Gangs of Madras  is composed by debutant Hari Dafusia.
