After Vicky Donor (2012) — which dealt with sperm donation — and Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan (2015) — about performance anxiety — Ayushmann Khurrana is back in a quirky romantic comedy that riffs on sexual attitudes in Indian society. Titled Badhaai Ho, the film features Ayushmann as an average Delhi guy who is embarrassed by a late pregnancy in his family. The trailer of Badhaai Ho was released on Tuesday and was praised for its humorous plot and relatable setting. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, Badhaai Ho also stars Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta, Surekha Sikri and Gajraj Rao.

Sanya, who plays Ayushmann’s love interest in the film, shared, “It was a fun experience shooting for Badhaai Ho. AfterDangal, I watched Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan and Bareilly Ki Barfi and was dying to work with Ayushmann Khurrana. He is an amazing actor and a very genuine human being. He was always in a very good mood and made me feel very comfortable. The film has a very funny take on family dynamics. It is hilarious but very relatable. I am really excited for the release of Badhaai Ho.”

Badhaai Ho is produced by Junglee Pictures and Chrome Pictures. The soundtrack of the film is composed by Tanishk Bagchi, Pritam’s JAM8 and Rochak Kohli. The film is slated for release on October 19, 2018.
