The famous journalist Rangaraj Pandey is making his debut as an actor with the H Vinoth directorial Nerkonda Paarvai, starring Ajith, Shraddha Srinath, and Vidya Balan.

Ahead of the film's release, in this forthright conversation Pandey talks to Sudhir Srinivasan about the film, why it is important to all kinds of audience, the questions and discussions it puts forth, his perception of women, #MeToo movement and its impact, and more.

Ajith will be seen playing a middle-aged advocate named Bharath Subramanian, fighting a legal battle for three falsely accused girls. Nerkonda Paarvai is the official remake of the Bollywood film Pink, which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead. The film bankrolled by Boney Kapoor, has cinematography by Nirav Shan and music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
