Harshith and Vishakha Dhiman are playing the lead roles in the upcoming love drama Romeo Juliet. Directed by Bhargav Macherla, the film features Viva Harsha, Siri Hanmanth, Prasad Behara, Prabhas Sreenu, Ajay Ghosh and Ajay in key roles. Sandeep N and Venkateswara Rao Challagulla are producing the film under the Navarasa Entertainments banner, with Gaddam Rakesh Reddy and Rudradev Madireddy serving as co-producers.
Harshith’s recent film Deewana received positive word of mouth, and his performance was appreciated. Romeo Juliet is his second film as a lead actor, though he has earlier acted in a couple of web series and the film Subham. He now gets another opportunity to play the lead and showcase his talent on the big screen.
One of the interesting aspects of Romeo Juliet is that Rebel Star Prabhas unveiled the film’s ‘story glimpse’ on his social media. His involvement is certainly a big boost for this small film.
Usually, Telugu films keep their stories and key plot points under wraps until their release, but the makers of Romeo Juliet have taken a different approach. Nearly four weeks ahead of its theatrical release, the team unveiled a story reveal video on Sunday.
The film is scheduled to hit theatres on October 23. Revealing the core point of the story well ahead of the release is a rare attempt in Tollywood and reflects the team’s confidence in their content and its different narrative. Another interesting aspect is that Romeo Juliet will arrive in theatres on World Rebels Day, which also marks Rebel Star Prabhas’ birthday. Prabhas unveiled the 'story glimpse' through his Instagram and wished the team all the best.
Coming to the glimpse, the hero meets a local gun dealer and tries to purchase a weapon. His intention is to buy the gun to kill a girl. From there, the story introduces a new world revolving around modern relationships. The glimpse makes it clear that Romeo Juliet is not going to be a conventional love story.
The glimpse also suggests that the film is primarily targeted at youngsters between 18 and 25, with its language and relationship dynamics reflecting the experiences of today’s youth.
Bhargav Macherla and Prashanth Raghati have provided the story for Romeo Juliet. Gopi Sundar is composing the music, while Abhiraj Nair is handling the cinematography and Yuva Kiran is the editor. Kartha Productions’ Dheeraj Ponugoti and Prakeerthi Uppalapati are overseeing the production design.
