Director Nag Ashwin shared an interaction between Singeetham Srinivasa Rao and himself, as he remembered Singeetham Srinivasa Rao on his passing. Nag Ashwin produced Singeetham Srinivasa Rao's final film as a director, Sing Geetham.

Nag Ashwin took to social media to share a Whatsapp message from the late filmmaker, who shared the title for his planned next feature, "A fruit cuts the knife."

Singeetham Srinivasa Rao passed away in Chennai, late on Saturday, at the age of 94.

Sing Geetham is a musical fantasy film, which follows the story of a village, which, under mysterious cirucumstances, falls under a spell which makes all of its residents sing, instead of talk. Devi Sri Prasad composed music for the film. The cast of the film includes Ayaan Khan, Shalini Kondepudi, and Ahilya Bamroo, among others.

The film was also Singeetham Srinivasa Rao's return to cinema after 13 years, since his last feature Welcome Obama (2013).
