There has been much discourse on the social impact of violence in cinema following an attack on a school student in Raptadu, Andhra Pradesh. A 21-year-old faces allegations of attacking the girl with a chainsaw. Meanwhile, a disturbing preschool child abuse incident also took place in Panchkula. Both have contributed to much discussion on children's safety and the social effects of cinema. After the Raptadu incident, Sandeep Reddy Vanga and his hyper violent films, in particular, have been a major talking point on the internet.

Actor, film critic and trade analyst KRK joined a chorus of social media users blaming Sandeep's cinema for having a negative influence on society, citing the Raptadu incident as an example. "Whatever has happened with the girl in the school, for that This psychopath Sandeep Reddy Vanga is responsible, who has glorified violence against women in his crap films. He has poisoned the minds of some idiots, who can't separate film’s fantasy from reality. Just look at his ugly face, he even looks like a psychopath. He should be banned from making movies," KRK wrote.

According to Sandeep's detractors, films such as Kabir Singh, Arjun Reddy, and Animal glorify the use of weapons and arms in educational milieus, offering real-world examples for offenders.

Ram Gopal Varma, a longtime admirer of Sandeep's brand of cinema, also shared his two cents on the raging debate. "Blaming films for rise in violence is like blaming Ramayana for rise in kidnappings," the Satya and Company filmmaker shared.

Sandeep has traditionally defended his exploration of violence as a form of artistic expression, but the industry has noted that filmmakers have a sense of social responsibility in order to ensure that extreme violence does not amount to glorification or does not become hyper-realistic.
