Actor Rahul Ramakrishna, best known for his role in 2017's Arjun Reddy, starring Vijay Deverakonda, made a shocking revelation through his social media on Friday. "Lost my brother today to Paraquat poisoning," he wrote before saying that the chemical substance is "terrifyingly lethal and widely misused for self-destruction." The actor also expressed his dismay at the convenience with which people can purchase the product. "Shocked by how easily it is available everywhere. Doctors are overwhelmed by the amount of cases. Please ban it ASAP-save lives," he wrote in the post. Notably, in his post, the actor also tagged the offices of the Prime Minister of India and the Chief Minister of Telangana, thus making his intentions clear.

Also known for his performances in films such as Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), starring Allu Arjun, and SS Rajamouli's RRR, featuring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, actor Rahul Ramakrishna shared an article that talks about the lack of regulation on the substance, despite the growing number of fatalities related to its consumption. His post about Paraquat poisoning has sparked an online discourse around the risks of consuming the substance. While netizens expressed their condolences to the actor and his family, many of them also talked about the dangers of using the substance thereof.

On the work front, the actor, seen recently in Andhra King Taluka, expressed in January that he was taking a break to be with his son at a time of "emotional strain on a personal front". Back then, he said that the situation was "nothing serious" and that his next film would hit theatres soon.

Later, he attended Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna's wedding reception and expressed his desire to do a film with his Arjun Reddy co-star.
