Nandamuri Balakrishna honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award at IFFD

Nandamuri Balakrishna, who has completed over five decades in Indian cinema, has achieved yet another milestone. He was honoured with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the International Film Festival of Delhi (IFFD) 2026, held at the iconic Bharat Mandapam.

The award recognises his remarkable 50-year journey and his immense contribution to Indian cinema. It stands as a tribute to his versatility, dedication, and lasting impact on the film industry.

Balakrishna attended the grand ceremony in New Delhi on March 25, where the award was presented by the Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, in the presence of several distinguished personalities from the film and cultural spheres.

Adding to his recent achievements, his film Bhagavanth Kesari, directed by Anil Ravipudi, was honoured with Best Feature Film in Telugu at the 71st National Film Awards, further highlighting his continued success.

In 2025, the Government of India also conferred upon him the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian honour, recognising his outstanding contribution to the arts and cinema.

Over the years, Balakrishna has carved a unique identity with his powerful performances and larger-than-life screen presence. From mythological roles to mass entertainers, his career reflects consistency and wide-ranging appeal, making him one of the most celebrated actors in Telugu cinema.
