Presented by Mahesh Babu, Rao Bahadur stars Satya Dev in the lead role. Directed by Venkatesh Maha, the film is produced by Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy, Sarath Chandra, and Anurag Reddy. The makers have already received appreciation for the film, and now director Sukumar has joined the list after watching a special preview.
The anticipation around Satya Dev and Venkatesh Maha’s psychological drama has increased after Sukumar praised the film. His appreciation comes after presenter Mahesh Babu also shared positive words about the movie ahead of its July 3 release.
Calling it a unique cinematic experience, Sukumar said, “Rao Bahadur is surreal cinema. I don’t think Indian cinema has seen a film like this before. It’s a magical and immersive experience that will surprise audiences.”
Sukumar was especially impressed with Satya Dev’s performance and said, “Every actor would be jealous of a role like this. Such opportunities rarely come to an artist. It’s a wonderful gift from the entire team to Satya Dev.”
He also appreciated director Venkatesh Maha for bringing an unconventional story to the screen. “Writing a story is one thing, but presenting it in such a surreal style without losing its soul is a huge achievement. After eight years, Venkatesh Maha has created something truly remarkable,” said Sukumar.
Praising the technical aspects of the film, Sukumar added, “The world-building is extraordinary. From the costumes to every technical department, the craftsmanship is on another level. Everyone involved has done a brilliant job.”
He also acknowledged producer Anurag Reddy’s contribution and said, “Anurag has played a very important role. Once audiences watch the film, they will understand how much he has contributed. You can see his passion in every frame.”
With Sukumar’s appreciation, expectations around Rao Bahadur have increased further. The film is releasing on July 3. Satya Dev, who has been waiting for a major commercial breakthrough, is confident that this film will become an important milestone in his career.
The actor underwent a complete transformation for the role and used special makeup to portray his character. Rao Bahadur is a period horror drama with thriller elements. Deepa Thomas is the female lead opposite Satya Dev.
