A few days ago, legendary actor Chiranjeevi attended the success meet of Peddi and spoke about the film, Ram Charan’s performance, and his dedication towards the project. Chiranjeevi became emotional while talking about Ram Charan’s intense performance and the injuries he suffered during the shooting. However, his comments about the National Awards also became a topic of discussion on social media.
The film also faced some controversies after its release. Director Buchi Babu Sana received criticism for portraying Janhvi Kapoor’s character in a certain way and later apologised. Some songs from the film also attracted attention due to the usage of certain lyrics.
Meanwhile, Ram Charan is continuing promotions for Peddi in the UK. The actor will watch the film along with fans there during special screenings scheduled on June 27.
The makers revealed that Ram Charan received a grand welcome from fans after arriving in the UK. Along with director Buchi Babu Sana, Ram Charan will attend the special screenings at Cineworld, Hounslow, United Kingdom, and interact with audiences. The event is expected to be a special moment for fans and another celebration of Ram Charan’s popularity.
While the film has performed well in the Telugu states, producer Venkata Satish Kilaru earlier admitted that the overseas performance was not up to expectations and called it a “case study”. The Hindi version also failed to make the expected impact, which came as a disappointment for the team, especially Ram Charan, who aimed to expand his reach in the Hindi market.
The team promoted the film extensively across several cities, including Bhopal, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Vijayawada. However, the film’s major success came from Andhra Pradesh, while Telangana collections were also not as expected.
Written and directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi stars Ram Charan in the lead role along with Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu. The film is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas in association with Mythri Movie Makers, Sukumar Writings, and IVY Entertainment, with Ishan Saksena as co-producer.
The film’s technical team includes music by AR Rahman, cinematography by R Rathnavelu, production design by Avinash Kolla, editing by Navin Nooli, and executive production by VY Praveen Kumar.
