Director SS Rajamouli took Indian cinema to global audiences with his epic two-part film franchise Baahubali. The films became a phenomenal success and created a new era in Indian cinema, setting benchmarks for scale, storytelling, and box-office performance.

The franchise, comprising the blockbusters Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion, remains one of the most celebrated and influential brands in Indian cinema. Widely regarded as one of the most popular Indian stories worldwide, the franchise continues to enjoy immense popularity and cultural impact.

After redefining box-office records and creating a global identity, the legacy of Baahubali is now expanding further with Baahubali: The Eternal War. The teaser of the animated epic has already generated significant buzz among audiences internationally.

Adding another milestone to its global journey, SS Rajamouli is set to present the project at the prestigious Annecy International Animation Film Festival, further strengthening the franchise’s worldwide presence.

Selected under the Work in Progress segment at Annecy, the film becomes one of the very few Indian animated projects to be showcased on this prestigious platform. Notably, acclaimed animated films like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Flow, which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature in 2025, were also featured in the Work in Progress segment at Annecy, making this achievement even more special for the Baahubali franchise.

Adding to the excitement, tickets for the Baahubali: The Eternal War Work in Progress panel were sold out within the first two minutes of bookings opening at the festival, reflecting the massive anticipation surrounding the project.

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival, held annually in Annecy, France, is one of the world’s most prestigious platforms celebrating animated films across various techniques, including traditional animation, CGI, claymation, and more. The festival features competitions across multiple categories and also hosts special open-air screenings at Pâquier, located in the heart of Annecy.

Baahubali: The Eternal War is a two-part animated epic directed by award-winning filmmaker Ishan Shukla. The teaser of Part 1 has already been released, and the film is scheduled to arrive in 2027.
