Ram Charan-starrer Peddi completed its first week in theatres on Wednesday. On Day 7, the film collected an estimated Rs 7.55 crore net, taking its total India net collection to Rs 187.25 crore.

After a seven-day theatrical run, the film has grossed Rs 222.53 crore in India, while its overseas gross stands at Rs 48.80 crore. With these figures combined, Peddi has earned a worldwide gross of Rs 271.33 crore.

Compared to Tuesday, the film witnessed a further decline on Wednesday, with collections dropping by nearly 22.2 per cent. In the Hindi market, Peddi collected just Rs 1.25 crore net on Day 7, a disappointing number when compared to Telugu blockbusters such as Pushpa and Pushpa 2, both of which performed exceptionally well in the Hindi belt.

On Day 7, Peddi was screened in nearly 7,535 shows across the country, but occupancy remained low at 17.3 per cent. The makers had pinned high hopes on the Hindi market, which is one of the reasons they brought actors such as Boman Irani, Divyenndu, Shivarajkumar, Tarak Ponnappa, Ravi Kishan and a few Malayalam actors on board. However, as the story failed to connect with audiences, the presence of these actors did not have a significant impact, particularly in North India.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, Peddi was released on June 4. The filmmaker also faced criticism over the way female lead Janhvi Kapoor was portrayed in the film. Following the backlash, a couple of scenes featuring her were reportedly removed from the theatrical version.

According to sources, the makers are now planning to add a few scenes featuring Jagapathi Babu and Rao Ramesh. Jagapathi Babu played Appalasuri in the film, but his character failed to leave a strong impact. Ram Charan essays the role of Peddi, a crossover athlete who fights for recognition and respect for his village.
