Kamal Haasan expressed his respect and admiration for veteran filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao and discussed his upcoming film at a recent promotional event. For the unversed, Kamal starred in multiple films directed by Singeetham, such as Raja Paarvai (1981), Apoorva Sagodharargal (1989), Michael Madana Kama Rajan (1990), Magalir Mattum (1994), and Mumbai Xpress (2005). Speaking at the event for Sing Geetham's promotion, Kamal said that he was younger when he worked with the filmmaker as compared to latter's direction team for the upcoming film.

When one of the team members told Kamal that the youngest of them is 24 years old, Kamal said that he met Singeetham Srinivasa Rao before that age. "I was 21 when I did all that these boys had done with him. I was inadvertently, wantedly his assistant director. It so happened I was also the producer of the film. But the main idea was to work with him," Kamal revealed. Kamal starred in, co-wrote, and produced both Raja Paarvai and Mumbai Xpress.

Kamal Haasan added that he respected Singeetham Srinivasa Rao always and do not need any special occasion to do so. "This is yet another film that Raaj Kamal wished it has produced. It doesn't matter; this is not a race, we are running together, not to get ahead of each other," Kamal noted.

Expressing his happiness for the invitation to the promotional event for Sing Geetham, Kamal said, referring to Singeetham's direction team, "You should have told me at least three-four months back, I would have been standing in that stage, along with those boys." The actor said that while he missed out on the opportunity, he trusts Singeetham to such an extent that he might get it again.

Notably, the upcoming film is produced by Nag Ashwin, known for helming Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, among others.
