After making her comeback to Telugu cinema, actor Laya has been taking on diverse roles in her second innings. She returned with Nithiin-starrer Thammudu, where she played his sister. She then reunited with actor Sivaji for Sampradayini Suppini Suddhapusini, in which she played the female lead.
Now, Laya is getting ready for two back-to-back releases, with both films arriving in theatres on the same day — July 17.
She stars opposite Jagapathi Babu in the psychological thriller Vadhala, directed by Vamsi Krishna and produced by veteran filmmaker Thammareddy Bharadwaja. The film revolves around a family caught in unexpected circumstances and promises an emotional thriller.
Laya's other film, Mr Middle Class, reunites her with actor Srikanth. The makers recently announced that the family entertainer, directed by G Nageswara Reddy, will also release on July 17. Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad plays another key role in the film.
The teaser of Mr Middle Class received a positive response, and the makers recently unveiled the release date poster, which caught everyone's attention with Srikanth appearing in the attire of Lord Venkateswara.
According to the makers, Mr Middle Class is a wholesome family entertainer with a story that will connect with audiences of all age groups. The simultaneous release of both films makes it a double celebration for Laya, who will be seen in two completely different genres on the same day. While Vadhala is a psychological thriller packed with suspense and family emotions, Mr Middle Class is a clean family entertainer centered on relationships, humour, and emotions.
Director G Nageswara Reddy, known for his successful comedy entertainers, is returning after a gap with Mr Middle Class. Apart from Srikanth and Laya, the film features Rajendra Prasad in a prominent role, while some of the promotional posters showing Srikanth and Rajendra Prasad in mythological avatars have generated curiosity.
The film also boasts a strong supporting cast comprising Sunil, Raghu Babu, Ali, Vennela Kishore, Prithvi, Babu Mohan, Prabhas Sreenu, Chitram Sreenu, Murali Goud, Dhanraj, Manik Reddy, Chitti, Ashok Kumar, Rajitha, Apoorva, Bhoopal, Karuna, Master Karthikeya, Sonia, and Baby Chaithra.
Sai Kartheek has composed the music, while Garuda Vega fame Anji is handling the cinematography. Dialogues are penned by Diamond Ratna Babu.
