Another small-budget Telugu film is gearing up for release this week with Raja The Raja. The film has generated curiosity, especially after Mythri Movie Distributors came on board to release it across the Telugu states.
Ruthvik and Vishakha Dhiman play the lead pair in the film, which is directed by Anil Boyidapu. Touted to be a period romantic entertainer, Raja The Raja blends romance, fantasy, entertainment and youthful emotions. Produced by K Niharika Dasari under the Brindavan Creations banner and presented by K Srilatha Reddy, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on July 17.
After generating good buzz with its promotional material, the makers unveiled the theatrical trailer on Monday evening.
The trailer offers an intriguing glimpse into the story, which unfolds across two timelines. Set initially in a royal era, Sai Kumar appears as King Veerata Varma Devaraya. In a kingdom that values tradition, the hero, who is deeply in love with Aadhya, is falsely accused of causing unrest in the kingdom and is sentenced to death.
The narrative then shifts to the present day, where the hero is reborn as a fashion designer and Aadhya as a model. Destiny brings them together once again, and the story revolves around whether they can reunite and complete the unfinished love story from their previous birth.
Director Anil Boyidapu appears to have woven together reincarnation, romance and emotions into an engaging narrative spanning two different eras. The grand palace sets designed by art director Vijay Kumar Pasupuleti lend authenticity to the period portions, while cinematographer Ravikiran Boyidapu captures both timelines with rich visuals. Mark K Robin is provided the background music.
Interestingly, producer K Niharika Dasari is the sister of lead actor Ruthvik. With Mythri Movie Distributors backing the release and the trailer creating curiosity, Raja The Raja is aiming to offer audiences a refreshing romantic entertainer when it arrives in theatres on July 17.
