Jagapathi Babu and Laya are reuniting on screen after nearly 25 years for Vadhala, a psychological thriller directed by Akella V Krishna. Produced by Kishore Naidu Chirumamilla and Thammareddy Bharadwaj under the Charitha Chitra banner, the film is all set to hit the screens on July 17.
The makers had earlier unveiled promotional content that generated curiosity about the film. Reuniting after a long gap, Jagapathi Babu and Laya play the parents of teenage children in what promises to be an intense psychological drama. The film also marks the return of veteran producer Thammareddy Bharadwaj, who has revived his Charitha Chitra banner after a long hiatus.
Hrithika Srinivas, the niece of senior actor Amani, is making her acting debut with Vadhala in a pivotal role. The team is confident that her performance will leave a strong impression. Chota K Naidu has handled the cinematography, while Karthik Kodakandla has composed the music.
Interestingly, Jagapathi Babu has taken a special interest in the project, as he was impressed with the story from the beginning. Besides acting in the film, he has been closely involved in ensuring the project takes shape the way it was envisioned. The actor had earlier revealed that director Akella V Krishna narrated the story to him several years ago, and he immediately wanted to be a part of it.
Most of the film was shot in Madhya Pradesh, and all post-production work has now been completed.
Vadhala also marks another collaboration between Jagapathi Babu and Thammareddy Bharadwaj, who had earlier worked together on Anthapuram. Jagapathi Babu had previously mentioned that they had planned to collaborate on another project years ago, but it never materialised. Now, they have finally come together for Vadhala, which Bharadwaj is producing along with Kishore Naidu Chirumamilla.
With an intriguing premise, an experienced cast and the reunion of Jagapathi Babu and Laya, Vadhala is gearing up for its theatrical release on July 17.
