Akhil Akkineni is coming up with his next film titled Lenin. Bhagyashri Borse is playing the female lead, while Murali Kishor Abburu is directing the film. Akkineni Nagarjuna and Naga Vamsi are jointly producing the film under Manam LLP Entertainments and Sithara Entertainments banners. The film is all set to hit the screens on July 10.

The film was supposed to release earlier but has been postponed several times and is finally arriving in theatres on July 10. After a gap of nearly three years, Akhil Akkineni is returning to the big screen with Lenin. The makers had already unveiled a few promotional assets, which created interest among audiences. Now, the trailer has been launched in Visakhapatnam.

Speaking at the trailer launch event, Akhil Akkineni apologised to his fans for the long gap between his releases. He also revealed that he was nervous before the event and could not sleep for the last two days.

“I am very sorry brothers, as it has been almost three years since my film was released. Now, I am coming with Lenin,” said Akhil at the event.

The actor said he wanted to wholeheartedly apologise to his fans. “I can’t talk much right now because my film will speak,” he said.

Akhil also shared an interesting moment about wearing sunglasses at the event. “I couldn’t sleep for the last two days because I wanted to wear goggles and cover up. But after seeing all the energy from you (fans), I got fresh oxygen and energy to work until July 10,” said Akhil. He added that he would speak more after the film’s release.

Akhil’s last film was Agent, directed by Surender Reddy, which released in April 2023. Since then, the actor has been waiting for a strong commercial comeback, and he hopes Lenin will give him the much-needed break.

The trailer, which was unveiled on Tuesday, features Nagarjuna’s voice-over and introduces the world of Lenin. The film is set in a Chittoor backdrop and showcases a mix of love, emotions and action. Akhil’s Chittoor slang has impressed viewers, while Bhagyashri Borse also looks promising in the trailer.

The trailer also introduces interesting characters played by Sunil as a police officer, Sivaji as Akhil’s father, Brahmaji and others, adding more curiosity around the film.
